Immigration Associate Attorney

Position Overview
We are an Am Law 200 firm seeking a skilled Immigration Associate Attorney to join our team in either our Rochester or Buffalo office. In this role you will be responsible for supporting our clients in all areas of immigration matters regarding employment, by providing legal advice and navigating complex immigration laws.

Key Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in immigration court and during administrative hearings
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on immigration laws and regulations
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including petitions, applications, and briefs related to employment classifications
  • Conduct legal research and analyze case law related to immigration
  • Assist clients with naturalization and citizenship applications
  • Develop strategies for deportation defense and asylum claims
  • Negotiate with government agencies on behalf of clients
  • Prepare clients for interviews and hearings related to their immigration status
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies
     

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD)
  • Active license to practice in the state of NY
  • 1+ years of experience in immigration law and court representation
  • Strong legal writing and research skills
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance in immigration matters
  • Demonstrated experience in litigation and negotiation
  • Knowledge of naturalization processes and deportation defense
  • Ability to handle various immigration cases, including employment status and family immigration

Benefits

We offer a competitive base ranging from $125,000- $140,000 and comprehensive benefits packages. Packages include Medical, Dental, Vision, flexible spending, 401K, pension plan, long term disability, and PTO.
