Position Overview
The VDC Manager, Mechanical and Piping is responsible for overseeing the virtual design and construction processes for mechanical and piping systems. This role focuses on ensuring project efficiency, quality, and adherence to safety standards while managing design coordination and collaborating with various stakeholders to meet project goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the virtual design and construction efforts for mechanical and piping systems on various projects.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure alignment of design and execution processes.
  • Develop and implement strategies for HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems to optimize project outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes and safety standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources effectively, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of designs and construction processes to ensure high standards are maintained.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Address and troubleshoot design and construction issues as they arise, ensuring swift resolutions.
  • Oversee contract management processes, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Promote sustainability and energy management practices in all project designs and implementations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project management within the construction industry, particularly in mechanical and piping systems.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems and relevant building codes.
  • Demonstrated experience in design coordination and virtual design and construction methodologies.
  • Excellent budgeting skills with a track record of managing project finances effectively.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide teams towards common goals.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and energy management.
